The History

The European Missionaries came to Mariveles with the purpose of putting up schools for the Native Aetas, teaching them how to read and write and much more on how to live sociably with the rest of the tribes and get to know themselves that they are part of the society.

Mayor Angel Peliglorio and Oliva Isip, the village-in-charge joined hands in putting up a primary school which was subsidized financially by the Missionaries themselves so much so that the school was named after  their Religious Organization – Saint James Morphet Aeta School in 2002.
It started with only two classrooms housing the pupils from grades one to four. It has five teachers headed by their Teacher-in-charge Josephine Peralta; Haidee Salvador teaches first grade; Rubilyn Maiso teaches second grade; Stimson Torres teaches third grade and Rommel Viloria teaches the fourth grade.

It was also of the same year that Saint James Morphet Aeta School had completed the grade levels up to sixth grade together with the constructions of addition school buildings.

In 2003, the school had its first culminating ceremonies to deserving students and graduates. It was on the same year that Miss Elvira J. Fider was appointed head of school until 2008. It was during her tenure that the school’s name was changed from St. James Morphet Aeta School to Sto. Nino Biaan Elementary School. The changing of its school name was due to the fact that there were no single native Aeta who came to study there for the simple reason that a school was constructed much closer, if not within, their own habitations. It was Barangay Captain Alfredo Hipas with the assistance of District Supervisor Mrs. Aurea G. Parbo that the name of the school, Sto Nino BIaan Elementary School was officially recognized and dedicated to the Barangay Patron - Sto. Nino.

Miss Fider was promoted and she was succeeded by Mr. Angelito Licup. However, Mr.  Licup served the school only for over a year. Because of the increase of enrollees, the school needed more teachers and a change of its organizational positions and titles.

It was Mrs. Gregoria S. Ceballe from the District of Bagac who became the first Principal of Sto. Nino Biaan Elementary School from 2009 until 2011. Mrs. Lota B Deleon succeeded her but for only three months from March to May of 2011.

That year 2011, Mr. Joel V. Vargas became the Principal of the school. He came also from the District of Bagac. It was very historical for Sto.Nino Biaan Elementary School for having three consecutive Principals in just one year – 2011.

Without denying the fact that there was indeed some levels of difficulties from among the Principals especially coming from far districts, Mr. Vargas was reassigned to his native place, Bagac where he resides now. Thus, Mr. Wilbert D. Langreo, who hails from Orion, became its School Principal. He is a former Head teacher of Limay National High School. His tenure of office lasted December of 2013.

At present, the school is headed by Mr. Angel R. Basilio, the former Officer-In-Charge of Mariveles National High School Cabcaben Annex II (Batangas II.)
